Happy New Year and welcome to 2021! This is an exciting time for a fresh start and all things new. Some of you may have changed plans during Annual Enrollment and are waiting for new insurance cards.As soon as you get it, review the card for mistakes. Compare the information on the card with the paperwork it came with to make sure everything matches. If you find any inconsistencies, call the customer service number on the paperwork and ask for a new card.
If you have separate drug, dental or vision coverage along with your medical coverage, you may have separate ID cards for each of these plans.
When you are sure all of your information is in order, make sure your doctor and pharmacist has your new information on file. Make sure you always carry your card with you in the event you have an emergency and need medical care immediately. You will not be denied medical care, but it will simplify your paperwork.
